Latest Update

Canada has extended its ban on direct flights between Canada and Morocco until October 29

Canada has extended the ban on direct flights to and from Morocco until October 29. Originally, Canada implemented the ban as a 30-day public health measure, which was in effect until September 29.

With the ban in place, passengers travelling to Canada from Morocco will need to take an indirect route, and get tested for COVID-19 from a third country before they will be allowed to fly directly to Canada.

Entering Canada Borders

  • All foreign nationals (excluding those arriving from the U.S. for essential services) are prohibited from entering Canada.
  • Canada-U.S. border will remain closed to all non-essential travel till at least June 21, 2020.
  • Those who are allowed entry to Canada include Canadian citizens, Canadian permanent residents, persons registered under Canada’s Indian Act, protected persons and immediate family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
  • Those exempted from travel restrictions include foreign nationals coming for essential purposes from the United States, foreign nationals exempted from the travel restrictions for essential purposes and persons reuniting with an immediate family member who is in Canada temporarily.
  • Potential travellers should consult the Border Information Service for information.

 

Travel Requirements Upon Entering Canada

  • All travellers are required to provide basic information via the traveller contact information form, available through ArriveCAN mobile app, web-based form or a paper form
  • Undergo a screening by a border services officer or quarantine officer to assess symptoms
  • Mandatory quarantine for 14 days

 

Leaving Canada Borders

  • The Government of Canada advises to avoid all non-essential travel outside of Canada until further notice.
  • If you are still considering travel outside of Canada, you should do the following:

Travel Requirements For Immediate Family Members of Canadian Citizens and PR

  • Health checked by airline officials to confirm no symptoms of COVID‑19. Anyone showing symptoms will not be allowed to board.
  • Highlight to the airline that you’re exempted from the travel restrictions and show that you’re travelling to Canada for an essential (non-discretionary) reason.
  • Present documents as proof that you’re an immediate family member.
  • Ensure you have a valid travel document (visitor visa or eTA) and a passport that is valid to fly to Canada.

 

Travel Requirements For Person Reuniting With An Immediate Family Members Who Is In Canadian Temporarily

  • Health checked by airline officials to confirm no symptoms of COVID‑19. Anyone showing symptoms will not be allowed to board.
  • Present written authorization from IRCC confirming exemption from travel restrictions.
  • Present valid visitor visa (if applicable) or an eTA (for visa-exempted country nationals)
  • Highlight to the airline that you’re exempted from the travel restrictions and show that you’re travelling to Canada for an essential (non-discretionary) reason.

Elementary and Secondary Schools

  • All elementary and secondary schools will operate on remote learning for the remainder of the 2021 school year.
  • Before and after school programs are closed.

 

Special Needs Schools

  • In-person learning is available for students from special education who are unable to study remotely.
  • These students and supporting staff must check for COVID-19 symptoms every day before going to school.
  • For all Ontario elementary and secondary schools that are providing in-person learning for special needs students, they are required to wear a face mask or face coverings while being in school, on school transportation or outdoors, where physical distance cannot be maintained.

 

Childcare

Child care centres and home-based child care services for non-school-aged children are open.
